Early Roots
Born in Lucknow—the cradle of ghazal—Archana Tripathi inhaled poetry before she could read. Her A Night to Remember: Music, Memory & Mehfil in Nairobi
On 26 April 2025, under the soft glow of lanterns and the warmth of community, Thaat Bhairavi took the stage at the Aga Khan Pavilion in Nairobi for an unforgettable Mehfil Night. The event, organized by the Seniors’ Members Committee of the Aga Khan Social Welfare Board, Kenya, was more than a concert—it was a heartfelt experience woven with music, nostalgia, and emotion.
As the audience gathered, the atmosphere transformed from casual chatter to reverent anticipation. The evening’s performances opened a space where time slowed, hearts opened, and the universal language of Indian classical music spoke to every soul present.
Thaat Bhairavi: The Heart of the Evening
From the moment Archana Tripathi’s voice floated through the air, accompanied by the masterful harmonium of Kunal Patel, the audience was captivated. The setlist included soulful ghazals, timeless Bollywood classics, and classical ragas, each delivered with a sincerity that resonated deeply across generations.
Some guests swayed gently, others closed their eyes, while many softly sang along—each one fully immersed in the moment. It wasn’t just a performance; it was a shared spiritual journey.
“They captured the spirit of the evening—blending classical depth with cinematic charm,” wrote the Aga Khan Social Welfare Board in their official event reflection.
A Celebration of Culture and Belonging
The beauty of the Mehfil Night wasn’t only in the music—it was in the shared sense of belonging. Between performances, laughter and conversation filled the Pavilion, rekindling connections within the community. The music became the thread stitching together memories, culture, and heartfelt presence.
The ambience—intimate and soulfully designed—was a perfect backdrop to Thaat Bhairavi’s emotional storytelling. This wasn’t just another event. It was a moment of pause, of reflection, and of unity through art.
Looking Ahead
Thaat Bhairavi is honoured to have been part of such a meaningful gathering. We extend our deepest thanks to the Aga Khan Seniors’ Committee for the invitation and hospitality.
As the last note faded and guests slowly departed, one message echoed clearly:
The community is ready for more nights like this—where music heals, connects, and elevates.
We can’t wait to return.
